Hello Trillium families,
Ready or not here comes the start of the new school year!
We cannot wait to see all of you on Tuesday we are excited and ready for school. I just wanted to give all of you some information about the first day of school. We will have a short scavenger hunt for parents to complete with their student. This will be three things that will become a part of your student’s daily routine. Once this has been complete your student will come in and have a seat on the carpet, we will sing a short song and give our goodbye hugs for the day. As soon as this is done Shannon and I will give the kids a brief idea of what will happen for the day and then we will be off to PE. We only have 45 minutes for all of this to happen so it will be a fairly busy and quick process. Please take some time this weekend to talk to your student about their morning and how it is going to look for them, as this will make transition time easier for the kids. Also if at all possible send your student in shoes that they can wear to PE on the first day. It will help insure we get there on time.
Also snacks are something that are provided by parents. Most of the time parents just add a little extra to the lunch. Students are allowed to eat what they want for their lunch. We will just make sure that they do not eat it all at snack time so that they still have something to eat during lunch. We will also let you know if this frequent so you can add a little more for your kid.
We have a few birthdays in the first week of school. As we have some food allergies and as stated in the parent handbook, we will not have treats to celebrate. We will have a Birthday celebration for each child, and will do our best to have it on the actual day. If we can’t make this happen we will be in touch with parents to let them know when it is. The celebration will be a time for the students to choose a game to play, and all of the other students will give a birthday wish which will go home with the birthday kid.
Enjoy your long weekend and we will see you bright and early Tuesday.
